About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Bracknell, specializing in connected carers and Special Guardianship Orders (SGO). This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional passionate about making a difference in children and families’ lives, ensuring they receive the best possible support and guidance through fostering services.
As part of the Fostering Team, you will work closely with families to assess, support, and review connected carers and those involved in SGOs, ensuring they have the resources and assistance they need to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. You will play a critical role in permanency planning, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments for prospective connected carers and SGO applicants.

Provide ongoing support, supervision, and guidance to connected carers and SGO families.

Coordinate and participate in multi-agency meetings to ensure comprehensive care planning.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports.

Comply with statutory requirements and best practice standards in fostering and special guardianship.

Work collaboratively within a dedicated fostering team to support permanency planning and placements.
Requirements:

A Social Work degree and current registration with Social Work England.

Proven experience within a fostering team or similar environment, preferably with expertise in connected carers and SGO.

Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and procedures in fostering and children’s services.
