Team Manager – Children’s Safeguarding

Bolton Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead one of six safeguarding teams within the Children’s Social Care Service. You will manage a team of six skilled Social Workers, providing strong leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality safeguarding practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support a team of six Social Workers delivering children’s safeguarding services
• Oversee progression of permanence plans for children, including those subject to child protection plans, children in need, care proceedings, and adoption
• Ensure evidence-based social work practice is embedded within the team
• Maintain robust case management and quality assurance systems
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and stakeholders to safeguard children and improve outcomes

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience managing social work teams within children’s safeguarding
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of child care law and statutory social work practice
• Demonstrable evidence of applying evidence-based practice in children’s social care
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
