Social Worker – Safeguarding – Bexley Council

  • £38.50 per hour
  • Hybrid working – 2 to 3 days in the office per week

Bexley Council is looking for a committed and experienced Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Service. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children in need and child protection cases
  • Undertake assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and care planning in line with legislation
  • Work directly with children, young people, and families to ensure safety and stability
  • Prepare reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings
  • Collaborate with health, education, and other partner agencies to support effective safeguarding
  • Ensure children’s voices and best interests are central to all work undertaken

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Post-qualified experience in safeguarding, CIN, and child protection work
  • Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and associated legislation
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
  • Experience of multi-agency working and partnership approaches
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
