Role: Senior Practitioner (Qualified Social Worker)

Are you an experienced social worker with a background in youth justice and a passion for safeguarding? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our Youth Justice Team on a locum basis, working within a proactive and supportive local authority in Staffordshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake initial risk assessments for young people involved in domestic violence (DV) incidents.
- Develop and implement planned interventions to address identified risks and needs.
- Conduct updated risk assessments to ensure ongoing safety and well-being.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for young people, providing consistent and reliable support.
- Proactively develop and implement safety plans tailored to individual cases.
- Conduct protective parenting assessments in high-risk situations to ensure child safety and family stability.
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated and effective interventions.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
- Extensive post-qualification experience, particularly in youth justice and safeguarding.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, decision-making, and intervention planning.
- Proven experience in conducting protective parenting assessments in high-risk situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and their families.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to youth justice and social care.
