Job Overview:

Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Worker with a focus on child protection? We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team in Manchester. This locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £40.00.

Key Responsibilities:

• Child Protection Case Management: Handle complex child protection cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions to safeguard children.
• Assessments and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop detailed protection plans tailored to the needs of children and families.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks and needs, making informed decisions to protect children from harm.
• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to child protection.
• Court Work: Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, attending court as required to advocate for the best interests of the child.
• Supervision and Support: Provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers within the team, promoting best practice and professional development.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.
• Safeguarding: Uphold and promote safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children.

Requirements:

• Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
• Proven experience in child protection social work.
• Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills.
• Ability to manage complex cases and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
