Position: Senior Social Worker - Leaving Care Team (Agency Position)

Hourly Rate: £33.30 per hour

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Leaving Care Service, known as the Next Steps Team. This role is pivotal in our ongoing commitment to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our care leavers.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will:

  • Lead the Pathway Planning process.

  • Support our children and young people to aim higher and achieve their aspirations.

  • Provide high-quality support, advice, and guidance in line with the corporate parenting responsibilities.
     

Key Responsibilities

  • Pathway Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive Pathway Plans for care leavers, ensuring their smooth transition to adult life.

  • Support & Guidance: Offer tailored support to young people, helping them to achieve their educational, employment, and personal goals.

  • Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of care leavers, ensuring their voices are heard and their best interests are prioritized.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver cohesive and effective support.
     

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.

  • Experience: Proven experience working with Cared for Children and Care Leavers.

  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of care and pathway planning processes, corporate parenting responsibilities, and the legal duties placed on Local Authorities.

  • Skills: Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people.
