Camden | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working
Camden Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Looked After Children Team. This is a key role supporting children and young people in care, ensuring they receive high-quality care planning, stability, and positive long-term outcomes.
You will manage complex looked after children cases while supporting less experienced colleagues and contributing to strong, relationship-based practice across the service.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a complex caseload of Looked After Children cases
- Undertake statutory visits and care planning responsibilities
- Complete pathway planning and permanency planning
- Work closely with foster carers, families, schools, and partner agencies
- Prepare reports for reviews, court proceedings, and planning meetings
- Support and mentor less experienced Social Workers
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in care
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Strong experience within Looked After Children services
- Confidence managing complex and long-term cases
- Ability to support and mentor colleagues
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
