Bexley | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working
Bexley Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is a frontline role focused on completing high-quality assessments, managing safeguarding concerns, and ensuring children and families receive timely and effective interventions.
You will manage a complex caseload while supporting less experienced colleagues and contributing to strong, relationship-based practice across the service.
In this role, you will:
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments
- Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
- Manage a complex caseload within an assessment setting
- Assess risk and develop outcome-focused care plans
- Lead and participate in multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions
- Support and mentor less experienced Social Workers
- Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case recordings
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Strong experience within Assessment or Duty teams
- Confidence managing complex safeguarding and high-risk cases
- Ability to support and guide colleagues
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
