Senior Social Worker

Achieving for Children (Kingston & Richmond) | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

Achieving for Children is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Referral & Assessment Team covering Kingston and Richmond. This is a fast-paced frontline role focused on completing assessments, managing safeguarding concerns, and supporting children and families at the earliest stage of statutory intervention.

The Referral & Assessment Team sits within the Identification and Assessment Service and works directly with children and families from the point of referral through Child in Need, Child Protection, and where required, initial court proceedings.

Working Pattern:

  • 3 days per week in the office
  • 2 days remote working

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments
  • Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
  • Lead Child Protection investigations and safety planning
  • Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases
  • Participate in strategy discussions and Initial Child Protection Conferences
  • Undertake pre-proceedings and court work, including report writing and statements
  • Prepare care plans and make recommendations to improve outcomes for children
  • Carry out purposeful direct work with children and families
  • Chair and contribute to complex multi-agency meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration
  • Social Work Qualification
  • Successful completion of ASYE
  • At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
  • Strong experience within Referral & Assessment services
  • Child Protection investigation and safeguarding experience
  • Court work and pre-proceedings experience
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
