Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive and progressive local authority? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Support & Safeguarding Service at Achieving for Children.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with children and families at the point where meaningful intervention can make a lasting difference. You'll be part of a service dedicated to safeguarding children, reducing risk, and supporting families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Hold and manage a complex caseload of children and families within Child Protection, Child in Need and Public Law frameworks.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and formulate effective plans that promote positive outcomes and reduce risk.
- Lead on complex safeguarding investigations and child protection enquiries.
- Prepare high-quality reports and assessments for court proceedings and statutory meetings.
- Chair and contribute to professional meetings, strategy discussions and multi-agency planning forums.
- Build effective relationships with children, young people, families and partner agencies.
- Provide mentoring and informal support to less experienced social workers where appropriate.
- Ensure all statutory responsibilities are fulfilled within required timescales and legislation.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
- Strong experience within Safeguarding, Child Protection, Child in Need and Court Work.
- Ability to manage complex risk and make confident evidence-based decisions.
- Excellent assessment, report writing and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
