The London Borough of Barnet is seeking a skilled Looked After Children Social Worker to join their dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of Looked After Children (LAC), ensuring all children receive the highest standard of care and support.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and care plans to meet the individual needs of children in care.

  • Develop and implement pathway plans for children transitioning to independence.

  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, LAC reviews, and other statutory meetings.

  • Work closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting children.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and Barnet's policies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England Registration: You must be registered with Social Work England.

  • UK Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience as a Social Worker in a Looked After Children or similar team within the UK.

  • Expertise in Looked After Children Services: Proven experience in managing LAC cases, conducting assessments, and developing care plans.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
