Senior Social Worker in Child Protection at Harrow Council
Harrow Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team on a locum basis. This role offers an attractive hourly rate of up to £38.50, hybrid working flexibility, and an immediate start. Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of child protection cases, ensuring timely assessments, interventions, and reviews in line with statutory requirements.
- Safeguarding: Lead on child protection investigations, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Family Support: Provide targeted support to children and families, developing and implementing care plans that promote positive outcomes.
- Mentorship and Supervision: Support and mentor less experienced social workers, offering guidance and supervision to promote best practice within the team.
- Court Work: Prepare and present evidence in family court proceedings, ensuring that all documentation meets legal standards and deadlines.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with current legislation, policies, and procedures, attending training and development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England and in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualified experience in a child protection setting.
- Skills: Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Flexibility: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment.
