Senior Social Worker - Devon - Children with Disabilities

We are working with a Local Authority in Devon that is looking for a Senior Social Worker to manage their flourishing Children with Disabilities team. 

You will have experience of court work, as candidates will need, or be willing to develop experience and skills to assess a persons capacity and authorise any deprivation of liberty before the courts You will be a qualified social worker with relevant Social Work England registration to practice and a good understanding of asset and strengths based approaches to social work. Previous experience in a Children with Disabilities team is preferred, but those with Child Protection experience will also be considered. Must be a car driver with access to a suitable vehicle insured for business use.

The Advanced Social Workers provide a lead social work role within each team, supporting the development of good evidence-based practice. With substantial post-qualifying experience and the ability to demonstrate that you’re working at the Advanced Social Worker level, you will:

• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of social work mentoring, coaching and training professional colleagues
• Have evidence of substantial post-qualifying training and development
• Be able to lead improvement and challenge the quality of social care practice in a constructive manner
• Demonstrate the ability to work with families with complex needs within a multi-agency environment

As well as an ASYE, you also need the following:

•    Social Work England Registration
•    Social Work Qualification
•    Right to Work in the UK
