About the Role:

Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our esteemed Children's Safeguarding Team on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant borough with excellent benefits and a supportive, stable team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding Children: Promote and ensure the welfare and safety of children.
  • Complex Casework: Handle intricate cases involving children and families.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with multi-agency partners.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff members.

Role Requirements:

  • Social Work England Registration: Must be fully registered.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of post-qualified experience in social work.
  • Skills: Strong assessment and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in case management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of child protection laws, policies, and procedures, familiarity with relevant social work methodologies and best practices.
  • Attributes: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse caseload, and maintain high professional standards.
