About the Role:
Are you a qualified and experienced Senior Social Worker ready to make a meaningful impact within the Connected Persons Team at Slough’s local authority? We are seeking a passionate professional who excels in supporting and assessing connected persons placements to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

In this key role, you will work directly with families, carers, and professionals to assess, support, and maintain family networks, helping children remain within their extended families or familiar environments when they cannot live with their parents. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a highly valued team, working alongside a network of dedicated professionals committed to safeguarding and supporting children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments for potential connected persons placements, ensuring compliance with statutory and local policies.

  • Collaborate with families, social workers, and partner agencies to provide ongoing support to carers and children.

  • Develop robust support plans that prioritize the child’s well-being and long-term stability within their family network.

  • Offer professional guidance to social workers and support staff, sharing best practices and insights.

  • Prepare and present reports for court and relevant panels, as necessary.

  • Lead complex cases and provide informed recommendations in line with legislation and policy frameworks.

About You:
To thrive in this role, you will be a compassionate and resilient Senior Social Worker with significant experience in children’s social care. You will have excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive family dynamics effectively.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.

  • Substantial experience in child and family social work, ideally in fostering, kinship, or connected persons teams.

  • Strong assessment and case management skills, with experience handling complex cases.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and fostering regulations.

  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
