Senior Social Worker - Edge of Care

Role: Qualified Senior Social Worker
Location: West Midlands
Team: Edge of Care Team
Pay: £38 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum Contract
In the office: Hybrid

Embark on a rewarding journey as a Qualified Social Worker within an innovative Edge of Care team, dedicated to transforming the lives of young individuals and their families in a small West Midlands local authority. This role offers a generous remuneration of £38 per hour, reflecting the importance and impact of your work. You will also be expected to sometimes work out of hours when required.

The focus of this pioneering team is to provide support to children aged 11-15 who are navigating the challenges of significant family breakdown. By fostering a collaborative environment, this role enables the creation of meaningful support systems that empower families to overcome obstacles and maintain a safe, nurturing home environment for their children.

As a vital member of this newly established team, you will be instrumental in delivering intensive intervention, working with 4-6 children and their families. Your expertise will complement the efforts of statutory social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to each child's well-being.

The team structure is designed to provide comprehensive support, including two social workers, two senior social workers, specialist family support workers, a psychologist, a speech and language therapist, and a manager. Additionally, you will benefit from access to specialist services such as exploitation intervention, youth work, money mentors, and addiction specialists.

The 'team around the worker' model is central to this role, aiming to forge strong, lasting connections with families. By reducing the number of professionals visiting the home, you will become a key figure in the lives of those you assist, offering a consistent and reliable presence.

To support your professional development and ensure the best outcomes for families, you will participate in weekly group supervision sessions with a diverse range of professionals, fostering a culture of shared learning and holistic family support.
