Gloucestershire County Council is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join their Localities Team, delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work to children and families across the county. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of children and families within statutory frameworks
- Provide high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct interventions
- Undertake court work, including preparing high-quality statements and care plans
- Act as a mentor and role model to less experienced social workers and ASYEs
- Support reflective practice and continuous professional development across the team
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case recording and reporting
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children’s Services
- Strong knowledge of statutory legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and court processes
- Experience supporting complex child protection and court work cases
- Confident decision-maker with excellent analytical and communication skills
- Commitment to relationship-based and strengths-based practice
