Gloucestershire County Council is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join their Localities Team, delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work to children and families across the county. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of children and families within statutory frameworks
• Provide high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct interventions
• Undertake court work, including preparing high-quality statements and care plans
• Act as a mentor and role model to less experienced social workers and ASYEs
• Support reflective practice and continuous professional development across the team
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children
• Maintain accurate, high-quality case recording and reporting

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Significant post-qualified experience within Children’s Services
• Strong knowledge of statutory legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and court processes
• Experience supporting complex child protection and court work cases
• Confident decision-maker with excellent analytical and communication skills
• Commitment to relationship-based and strengths-based practice
