Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Service | Lambeth Council | £39.04 per hour (Locum) | Hybrid Working

About the Role

Working within the Family Safeguarding Service, you will support children and families through robust safeguarding interventions while working collaboratively with specialist practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused plans
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary professionals (including domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health specialists)
  • Carry out statutory visits and ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures
  • Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings
  • Build strong, effective relationships with families to promote positive change

About You

We’re looking for a skilled and confident Social Worker with experience in safeguarding and long-term work.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience within Family Safeguarding, Child Protection, or CIN teams
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks and legislation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency setting
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively
