Wandsworth Council is looking for an experienced senior social worker to join their Children in Need Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to play a key role in safeguarding children, working with families to create lasting positive change, and mentoring junior colleagues within a forward-thinking borough.

Key Responsibilities
- Hold and manage a caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and direct work with children and families
- Develop and implement tailored intervention and support plans
- Contribute to safeguarding processes, case conferences, and statutory reviews
- Prepare high-quality reports for courts, panels, and professional meetings
- Support, mentor, and guide less experienced colleagues within the team
- Promote positive outcomes for children by working closely with partner agencies
Candidate Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Substantial post-qualified experience in Children in Need/Child Protection services
- Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and relevant safeguarding legislation
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Ability to manage complex cases with confidence and independence
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
