Senior Social Worker – Looked After Children (LAC) Team
Location: Bexley
Rate: £39.04 per hour
Contract: Locum, Full-Time (36 hours)

We’re working with the London Borough of Bexley to find an experienced Senior Social Worker for their Looked After Children team.

It’s a stable team with strong management, and they’re looking for someone who can slot in quickly, manage a caseload of children in long-term care, and support less experienced colleagues when needed.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be firefighting — it’s about maintaining quality, building relationships with children and carers, and pushing plans forward.

What you’ll be doing:

• Holding a caseload of looked after children, some of whom will be in long-term placements
• Attending LAC reviews, care planning meetings and any required court work
• Working closely with IROs, schools, carers, and other professionals
• Writing clear assessments and reports, and keeping records up to date
• Being part of a supportive team where your input is genuinely valued

What they’re looking for:

• You’re Social Work England registered and have experience in LAC or long-term children’s work
• You can manage complex cases confidently and independently
• You’re a team player, but you don’t need your hand held
• You know what good looks like when it comes to outcomes for children, and you don’t cut corners
