Senior Social Worker - Cared For Children - Specialising in Mental Health

 

Position: Senior Social Worker
Location: Manchester
Hourly Rate: £40 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Locum, Full-time
Office Requirement: 2 days in office per week, Hybrid

Are you a Senior Practitioner with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs? Our Cared For Children Team is seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Social Workers to join us in providing exceptional support to children and young people.

 

About the Role:

As a Senior Social Worker in our Cared For Children Team, you will be responsible for a small caseload of approximately 8 children, each requiring intense support due to the complexity of their needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Regular visits to children to monitor and support their plans for permanence.
  • Ensuring stability within their care environment.
  • Identifying risks and needs and implementing multi-agency plans to address them.
  • Chairing care planning meetings and ensuring family time meets the child's needs.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments.

 

Key Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with young people with enduring mental health needs, learning needs, or conditions such as Autism/ADHD.
  • Strong skills in communication and forming positive relationships with children, families, carers, and multi-agency professionals.
