Sheldon Phillips are working with Birmingham Children’s Trust who are looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Duty and Assessment Service. The team is responsible for undertaking assessments, managing referrals, and ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time. This role is well-suited to a confident practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver effective interventions from the outset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake assessments of children and families following referral
-
Manage and progress Child in Need, Child Protection, and PLO cases
-
Prepare clear and evidence-based reports for court and panels
-
Develop robust plans to safeguard children and promote their welfare

Work closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support

Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues where required

Maintain accurate case records in line with statutory requirements
Requirements:

Social Work England Registration
-
Social Work qualification
-
Post-qualified experience within Duty and Assessment or Frontline teams
-
Strong safeguarding and assessment skills
-
Court and pre-proceedings experience desirable
-
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
