Hampshire County Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team covering Eastleigh and Winchester. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex safeguarding and child protection cases, providing guidance to colleagues
  • Undertake detailed assessments and develop robust safety and care plans
  • Chair core group meetings and multi-agency discussions
  • Offer mentoring and support to less experienced social workers
  • Prepare and present detailed reports for court proceedings and panels

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualified experience in Safeguarding, Child Protection, or Children in Need
  • Strong leadership, assessment, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues is desirable
  • Commitment to high-quality, child-centred social work practice
