Sutton Borough Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their dedicated Looked After Children team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a service committed to providing stability, permanency, and positive outcomes for children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of Looked After Children, ensuring their safety, stability, and wellbeing
  • Undertake statutory visits, pathway planning, and permanency work in line with legislation
  • Build strong relationships with children, carers, and families to ensure their voices are heard
  • Prepare high-quality assessments and reports for reviews, panels, and court proceedings
  • Mentor and support less experienced colleagues, contributing to team learning and development

Candidate Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualified experience in Looked After Children or Safeguarding teams
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-agency context
  • Commitment to promoting the rights and best outcomes for children and young people
