Sutton Council is seeking a skilled and confident Senior Social Worker to join their Localities Team. This is a frontline role supporting children and families across a range of complex cases, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and court proceedings. As a senior member of the team, you'll also support and guide less experienced colleagues while contributing to high standards of practice across the service.

Role Highlights:

  • 36 hours per week

  • Senior role with responsibility for complex casework and peer support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex caseloads across Child in Need, Child Protection, and court cases

  • Deliver strength-based assessments and develop outcome-focused plans

  • Mentor and support less experienced practitioners within the team

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and support children

  • Contribute to service development and improvement through reflective practice

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration

  • Substantial post-qualified experience in statutory children’s services

  • Confident in managing risk, care planning, and safeguarding processes

  • Proven ability to provide peer support and maintain high-quality practice
