Barnet | Locum | £38.50 per hour | Hybrid Working
Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team. This is a specialist frontline role supporting children and young people with complex needs, ensuring they are safeguarded and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
You will manage complex cases while providing guidance to less experienced colleagues and contributing to high-quality, relationship-based practice.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a complex caseload of children with disabilities and additional needs
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments and statutory visits
- Develop and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans
- Work closely with families, carers, schools, and health professionals
- Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes
- Provide support and mentoring to less experienced Social Workers
- Maintain high-quality reports and accurate case recordings
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Strong experience within Children with Disabilities services
- Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
- Ability to support and mentor others
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
