Senior Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Rate: £35.00 per hour
Location: Landmark House, Ipswich
Working Pattern: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in the office)

We are looking for a skilled Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team at Suffolk Children’s Services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social worker to work within a supportive environment, contributing to the safeguarding and well-being of children and families in Suffolk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake assessments and manage cases of Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP).
• Develop and implement plans that support children and families, ensuring safeguarding and welfare needs are met.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, and multiagency partners to deliver high-quality interventions.
• Attend and contribute to child protection meetings and reviews, ensuring effective decision-making.
• Provide advice and guidance to other team members and contribute to case discussions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Significant experience as a social worker, particularly within safeguarding, CIN, and CP cases.
• Strong knowledge of child protection procedures and relevant legislation.
• Ability to manage complex cases, complete assessments, and write comprehensive reports.
• Effective communication skills to engage with children, families, and partner agencies.

Essential Qualifications:

• Social Work Degree (or equivalent).
• Social Work England registration.
• DBS Check (Enhanced).
