Pay:  up to £35 per hour

Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker with a passion for creating forever families? Northampton’s local authority is looking for a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our Adoption Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex cases related to adoption and providing support to adoptive families.

  • Conducting thorough assessments of prospective adopters and children’s needs.

  • Preparing and presenting reports to the adoption panel, ensuring accurate representation of each case.

  • Offering guidance and support to adoptive families throughout the matching and placement process.

  • Collaborating with partner agencies to ensure a smooth and successful adoption process.

  • Mentoring and supporting junior staff within the team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent).

  • Registration with Social Work England.

  • Significant experience in adoption or working with children and families.

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to adoption.

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure.
