Pay: Up to £38.50 ph

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team in the London Borough of Havering. This role is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families. You will work closely with a team of social workers and other professionals to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our community.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of complex child protection cases, ensuring assessments, planning, and interventions are completed in a timely and effective manner.

Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify risks and strengths, and create tailored support plans.

Work collaboratively with families, agencies, and professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, including direct work with children and young people.

Prepare for and attend court proceedings, presenting evidence and supporting cases as necessary.

Supervise and mentor less experienced social workers, providing guidance, support, and development to enhance team performance.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, local procedures, and best practices in child protection.
Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Significant post-qualifying experience in child protection and safeguarding.

Strong understanding of the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures within children’s social care.

Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload.

A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to mentor others in their growth.
