The London Borough of Brent is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Work Team Manager to lead their Child Protection Team in children's services. About the Role:

As the Team Manager of the Child Protection Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk. You will lead a team of committed social workers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the highest standards of practice are maintained. Your leadership will be crucial in managing complex cases and making key decisions to protect vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Child Protection Team, providing supervision, guidance, and support to social workers.
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, and intervention processes to ensure children at risk are safeguarded.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and best practice standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker with extensive experience in children's services, particularly in child protection.
  • Social Work England registered.
  • Proven track record of team management and leadership.
  • In-depth understanding of child protection legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and manage complex cases.
