Social Work Team Manager – MASH Team – London

Location: London Borough of Barking & Dagenham
Pay/Salary: £57,402 - £61,653 per year
Office Working: Hybrid
Contract: Permanent

We are currently working with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to find an experienced Social Work Team Manager for their MASH team in Children's Services. With a stable senior management team and a mostly permanent workforce, Barking & Dagenham is looking for someone with solid experience in managing a team of social workers in a MASH service. You will be instrumental in leading a motivated team, implementing quality assurance as standard.

Being creative will assist you to deliver the best possible services and outcomes for the families your team works with. The MASH team is the front door to statutory services by applying consistent thresholds based on Right Help, Right Time. In Barking and Dagenham, they recognise the entrenched needs of the community. Duties

  • Driving excellent social work practice and making a positive difference to children, young people and their families in our community.
  • Responsible for delivering services to children and young people through the operational management and supervision of social work staff. Identifying risk and signposting
  •  Focus on working with Assessment and Family Support and Safeguarding colleagues in managing case transfers, ensuring strong threshold and oversight on every case.
  • Offer reflective supervision and support the progress and professional development of each member of your team.
  • Ability to demonstrate what excellent social work practice is, together with sound decision making and threshold knowledge.

What you need

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
  • Experience working in and managing a team in MASH or similar service
