Social Work Team Manager – Reach Out Domestic Abuse Service – London

Location: London Borough of Redbridge
Pay/Salary: £45.80 per hour (Umbrella)
Office Working: Predominantly office-based | 1 day WFH dependent on service needs
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with the London Borough of Redbridge to find an experienced Social Work Team Manager for their award-winning Reach Out Domestic Abuse Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist borough-wide service supporting adults, children and families impacted by domestic abuse, while driving improvements across social care and helping shape future service delivery.

You'll have operational responsibility for the Reach Out Service, including the Open Up Behaviour Change Team, working across both Children's and Adults' Social Care. As Redbridge's front door for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, you'll provide strong leadership to the service while embedding effective practice, improving outcomes and supporting Redbridge's involvement in the Families First for Children Pathfinder programme.

Duties

  • Leading the day-to-day operational management of the Reach Out Domestic Abuse Service.
  • Managing and providing oversight of the Open Up Behaviour Change Team.
  • Providing strong professional leadership and supporting consistently high standards of practice.
  • Working across Children's and Adults' Social Care to improve responses to domestic abuse.
  • Supporting the continued implementation of the Safe & Together practice model.
  • Driving service improvement and developing effective operational practices.
  • Providing oversight of complex domestic abuse cases involving adults, children and families.
  • Identifying challenges within service delivery and developing practical solutions to improve outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with internal services and external partners to provide coordinated responses to domestic abuse.
  • Contributing to Redbridge's Families First for Children Pathfinder programme and the ongoing development of the service.

What you need

  • Social Work Qualification.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
  • Previous social work management experience within Children's or Adults' Services.
  • Strong understanding and experience of domestic abuse practice.
  • Knowledge of the Safe & Together practice model.
  • Experience leading and developing social care teams and services.
  • Strong safeguarding, operational management and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to drive service improvement and confidently lead change.
  • Able to work predominantly from the office in Redbridge, with one WFH day dependent on service needs.
