The Opportunity

Sheldon Phillips is working with BCP Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-supported, child-focused team in a coastal authority known for its commitment to stability and high-quality practice.

You will be responsible for working with looked after children and young people to deliver care plans that promote permanence, emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes.

BCP Council promotes a relational, trauma-informed model of practice that supports social workers to build trust and make a real difference in children’s lives.

Key Duties

  • Manage a caseload of children in care

  • Complete statutory visits, care planning and reviews

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and carers

  • Work closely with partner agencies to deliver multi-agency support

  • Prepare reports for court and attend proceedings when required

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

  • At least 2 years of post-qualified experience working with looked after children

  • Strong understanding of care planning, safeguarding, and permanency planning

  • Confident working in a hybrid model (office and remote)

  • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle
