Social Worker – Children in Need

About the Role:

Islington Borough Council is looking for an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join their Children in Need (CIN) team. This is a locum role where you will play a key part in supporting vulnerable children and families in need, helping to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of Children in Need, ensuring statutory obligations are met.
• Complete assessments, develop care plans, and work closely with children and families to improve outcomes.
• Ensure children’s safety and protection through regular visits, interventions, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide holistic support to families.
• Maintain accurate case records and participate in court proceedings where necessary.

Requirements:

• Social Work England (SWE) registration.
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in children’s services.
• Strong knowledge of child protection procedures, statutory social work, and experience of working with CIN cases.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals.
