We’re looking for a skilled and committed Social Worker to join Hampshire’s Family Help Service, focusing on safeguarding children and young people. This is your chance to work within a supportive, forward-thinking local authority where best practice and positive outcomes for children are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As a Social Worker in the Family Help Service, you will:

  • Manage a varied caseload of children in need, those subject to child protection plans, and children in care.

  • Undertake high-quality assessments and develop effective, child-focused care plans.

  • Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to build resilience and improve safety.

  • Use your professional judgement to make timely, proportionate safeguarding decisions.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.

  • Has recent experience in children’s safeguarding, ideally within a local authority setting.

  • Brings strong assessment, analysis, and risk management skills.

  • Is confident engaging directly with children and families to achieve positive change.

  • Can work effectively in a busy, high-volume environment.
