If so, a local authority in central London has an exciting new role for a qualified social worker in the Fostering Special Guardianship Team. This is your chance to join a dedicated team and help improve the lives of children requiring specialist services.

The role of the qualified social worker includes being responsible for a manageable caseload, managing the recruitment, assessment and approval of Reg 24 and SGO carers, and supporting foster carers in the delivery of their caring role, in accordance with Fostering Regulations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that children’s care and development needs are met within placements by undertaking necessary placement management, planning and intervention.

To be a successful applicant for this role, you must have qualifications and experience in social work, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and procedures. You must be able to work flexibly and effectively with a range of stakeholders, including children, young people, families, colleagues and external agencies. You must be able to manage difficult situations and conflicting priorities, and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
