Are you looking for a rewarding role that combines your passion for helping young people and preventing homelessness?
We are currently seeking an experienced Homeless Intervention Social Worker to join a dedicated team in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will play a key role in the region's efforts to tackle homelessness amongst the 16-17 age group.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working with at-risk young people, and a strong understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness. You will be required to provide crisis intervention and support, as well as identifying potential housing and support solutions. You will also be expected to liaise with other professionals and agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the social and economic issues surrounding homelessness, and a commitment to preventing it. You will need to be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with fellow professionals. You must also be self-motivated and a team player.
In this role, you will be rewarded with the satisfaction of helping to combat homelessness and improve social outcomes for young people. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working together to provide support and guidance to those in need.
You will be required to work flexibly, with the ability to work outside of normal office hours if necessary. You should also be prepared to work in challenging situations and with people from a variety of backgrounds.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
• A minimum of two years' experience working with at-risk young people
• A degree in Social Work, Youth Work or a related discipline
• An in-depth understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies
• The ability to work flexibly and outside of normal office hours
• A commitment to improving social outcomes for young people
