Introduction
Northampton Children's Trust is looking for a skilled Duty & Assessment Social Worker to join their fast-paced team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced social worker who thrives in frontline assessment work and is committed to making a difference in children's lives.
About the Role
As part of the Duty & Assessment Team, you will:
- Conduct statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989
- Work on a duty rota responding to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
- Undertake Section 47 investigations where required
- Work closely with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children
- Prepare court reports, care plans, and attend case conferences when necessary
- Manage a manageable caseload to ensure effective and timely interventions
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Social Work England registration
- Experience in Duty & Assessment, Referral & Assessment, or similar teams
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent report writing and assessment skills
