Introduction

Northampton Children's Trust is looking for a skilled Duty & Assessment Social Worker to join their fast-paced team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced social worker who thrives in frontline assessment work and is committed to making a difference in children's lives.
 

About the Role

As part of the Duty & Assessment Team, you will:

  • Conduct statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989
  • Work on a duty rota responding to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
  • Undertake Section 47 investigations where required
  • Work closely with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Prepare court reports, care plans, and attend case conferences when necessary
  • Manage a manageable caseload to ensure effective and timely interventions
     

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Experience in Duty & Assessment, Referral & Assessment, or similar teams
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent report writing and assessment skills
