Team: Localities
Contract: Locum – 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to £35 per hour
Location: Wakefield Council
Sheldon Phillips are working with Wakefield Council to recruit a Social Worker to join their Localities Team. This is a key role in delivering high-quality social work practice, supporting children and families, and working within a strong framework of safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases.

Undertake assessments, including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries.

Develop and implement effective care plans to safeguard children.

Work in partnership with families and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Prepare clear and evidence-based reports for Child Protection Conferences and court.

Maintain high standards of recording and case management.

Contribute to team discussions, reflective practice, and service development.
Requirements:

SWE Registration.
-
Recognised Social Work qualification.

Post-qualified experience within a Localities, Child Protection, or Safeguarding team.

Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.

Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure.

Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
