We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Service (CSWT) at Kent County Council. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong frontline practitioner looking to work within a fast-paced service focused on protecting children and supporting families through meaningful intervention and relationship-based practice.

The successful candidate will manage complex child protection, child in need, and court work cases, ensuring children are safeguarded and supported to achieve positive long-term outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection, Child in Need, and court work
  • Complete assessments, care planning, and safeguarding interventions
  • Undertake statutory visits and maintain accurate case recordings
  • Prepare reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings
  • Work closely with families and partner agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes
  • Participate in strategy discussions, core groups, and multi-agency meetings
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with statutory guidance and timescales
  • Support less experienced colleagues where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Significant post-qualified experience within frontline Children’s Services
  • Strong safeguarding and court work experience
  • Ability to manage complex and high-risk caseloads
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills
  • Confident multi-agency working and communication skills
