Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families within Child in Need and Child Protection frameworks.
  • Undertake safeguarding assessments and risk management interventions.
  • Complete Section 47 investigations and contribute to effective safety planning.
  • Develop and implement outcome-focused care and support plans.
  • Carry out direct work with children, young people, and families.
  • Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation where required.
  • Participate in Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, Strategy Meetings, and Legal Planning Meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and other partner agencies.
  • Promote permanence, stability, and positive outcomes for children.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registered with the Social Work England.
  • Experience working within Safeguarding, Child Protection, CIN, or Locality Services.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
  • Commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families.
