About the Role
As a Family Help Social Worker, you'll work within the North, Central, or South locality teams, supporting children and families through relationship-based interventions that promote safety, stability, and positive long-term outcomes.
You'll hold a varied caseload of children in need, child protection, and family support cases, undertaking assessments, developing plans, and working alongside partner agencies to ensure families receive the right support at the right time.
This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and families while working within a service committed to restorative and strengths-based practice.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of children and families requiring support, intervention, and safeguarding oversight.
• Complete assessments, child protection enquiries, and care planning activities.
• Develop and implement effective plans that improve outcomes for children.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
• Participate in child protection conferences, core groups, and multi-agency meetings.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports.
• Promote permanence, stability, and positive family outcomes wherever possible.
• Work within statutory timescales and legislative frameworks.
Practice Model

Social workers are encouraged to develop meaningful relationships with children and parents, using Motivational Interviewing and reflective practice to support positive change. The model promotes multidisciplinary working and recognises that lasting improvements are achieved through partnership, trust, and early intervention.
Requirements
• Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Experience within children's social care.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory responsibilities.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Sponsorship available for candidates with 2+ years UK experience.
