The Role
Achieving for Children is seeking a committed and motivated Social Worker to join its Assessment Service on a permanent basis. This is a frontline role focused on completing timely, high-quality assessments following referral, ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time.
You will work with children and families from initial referral through assessment, managing risk, identifying strengths, and making proportionate decisions in line with statutory guidance and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake statutory assessments following referral
- Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries where required
- Undertake direct work with children and families during assessment
- Identify risk, protective factors, and appropriate interventions
- Make clear threshold and planning decisions in line with statutory guidance
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies
- Maintain accurate, timely case recording and reporting
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Experience within Assessment or Referral & Assessment services
- Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Confident managing safeguarding and complex family situations
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced statutory environment
