Social Worker – Adolescents
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Rate: £42.76 per hour
Contract: Locum, Full-Time
Office Time: 2 days per week

Surrey are looking for a Social Worker to join their Adolescents team — based in Guildford and focused on working with young people on the edge of care, at risk of exploitation, or struggling with breakdown at home or school.

This is a specialist role that needs someone confident working with teenagers in crisis — someone who knows how to build trust, manage risk, and pull the right agencies together when things start to unravel.

What the role involves:

• Working with adolescents facing extra-familial harm, missing episodes, or exploitation
• Managing cases on the edge of care or in reunification
• Building relationships with young people and their families
• Close work with police, education, health and internal partners
• Attending strategy meetings, panels, and multi-agency forums
• Contributing to long-term planning and safeguarding

What they’re looking for:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Strong experience with adolescents, contextual safeguarding or edge of care
• Calm, consistent practice under pressure
• Able to balance relational work with clear planning and risk management
