Social Worker - Adults Court of Protection Team – Newham Council

Hourly Rate: £36.00 p/h

 

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a background in the Court of Protection and Community Deprivation of Liberty processes?

Newham Council are looking for a qualified social worker to join their Court of Protection Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments (COP3) and Best Interest Assessments.
  • Complete Court of Protection statements (COP24) and Deprivation of Liberty (DOL) forms (COP DOL 11).
  • Lead the completion of reviews, support plans, and DOL assessments.
  • Partner with Rule 1.2 Representatives, families, service providers, and stakeholders across supported living, shared lives, and community settings.
  • Support colleagues in the team with the Community DOL process and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in Community DOL processes and completing related paperwork.
  • Previous work experience in the Court of Protection, including undertaking assessments and completing relevant forms.
  • Proven ability to complete COP 3, COP24, and COP DOL 11 forms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in completing Best Interest Assessments and managing DOL reviews and support plans.
  • Excellent partnership working with families, service providers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and provide support to fellow social workers in the DOL process.
