About the Role
Devon Local Authority is looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our dedicated Assessment Team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of children by conducting timely assessments, engaging directly with families, and responding promptly to emergencies and Section 47 cases. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and respond effectively to child protection and welfare concerns.
- Engage directly with children and families to build supportive relationships and gather insights for informed decision-making.
- Manage a caseload that includes emergency and Section 47 cases, ensuring timely intervention and safeguarding practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to family support and intervention.
- Work from the office as required: 5 days per week during duty weeks and 3 days per week during non-duty weeks to support assessments and critical face-to-face interactions.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in child protection, assessments, and case management.

- Ability to handle sensitive and complex cases with professionalism and empathy.
