Salary: £36,648 – £40,221 per annum
Retention Package: £2,000 on top of salary
Relocation Package: Up to £8,000

Working Pattern: Full-time, flexible hybrid working

Sheldon Phillips are working in partnership with Oldham Council to recruit a Social Worker for their Duty and Assessment Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for social workers who want to make a real difference in a service with strong leadership, investment in staff, and excellent benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete high-quality S17 and S47 assessments in a timely manner

  • Work with children and families at the point of referral to understand risk and need

  • Use a strengths-based approach to engage families and coordinate services

  • Produce clear and evidence-based reports for child protection and court processes

  • Maintain accurate case notes and ensure statutory duties are met

  • Contribute to team discussions, supervision and continuous practice improvement
     

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration

  • Solid post-qualified experience in a front-line Assessment or Safeguarding team

  • Skilled in assessment, analysis and multi-agency working

  • Knowledge of current legislation and best practice

  • Confident communicator with a reflective and child-focused approach
