Team: Duty and Assessment
Contract: Locum – 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to £33.30 per hour
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire County Council
Sheldon Phillips are working with Staffordshire County Council to recruit a Social Worker to join their Duty and Assessment Team in Cannock. This is a fantastic opportunity to work under a supportive and approachable Team Manager, within a collaborative team environment committed to safeguarding children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 assessments to inform planning and intervention.

Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases from referral through to closure or transfer.

Complete timely and outcome-focused reports, including court work when required.

Ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and promote positive outcomes.

Maintain high-quality case recording in line with statutory requirements.

Contribute to team discussions, case planning, and reflective supervision.
Requirements:
-
SWE Registration.
-
Social Work qualification.
-
Post-qualified experience in a Duty, Assessment or Safeguarding team.

Strong assessment, analytical, and safeguarding skills.
-
Experience working with partner agencies in a child protection context.
-
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining quality practice.
