About the role

You’ll complete child and family assessments, see families quickly, and make timely recommendations on next steps (step down, CIN/CP, legal). Blackpool’s practice model (“Families Rock”) is described as restorative and strengths-based, with an emphasis on being transparent with families and keeping planning meaningful.

Key responsibilities

• Complete Child & Family Assessments within statutory timescales
• Undertake S47 enquiries and safeguarding actions when required
• Make clear recommendations around thresholds and next steps
• Produce high-quality, defensible recording and reports
• Work with partner agencies to coordinate timely support

Requirements

• SWE registration
• Recent Assessment/Duty experience
• Confident with thresholds, pace, and written analysis
• Enhanced DBS (or Update Service)
