Introduction

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team. The role is ideal for a practitioner confident in managing complex risk and delivering high-quality statutory social work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families requiring safeguarding intervention.
  • Undertake assessments, direct work, and safety planning.
  • Lead on Section 47 enquiries and Child Protection planning.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
  • Attend strategy meetings, core groups, conferences, and court where required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory guidance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration and right to work in the UK.
  • Strong experience in Safeguarding, Child Protection, or Children in Need.
  • Excellent assessment, risk analysis, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to relationship-based, child-centred practice.
